Grant Recipient: Sappi’s Ideas that Matter program

Since 1999, the Sappi paper company has been awarding grants to projects that showcase design as a tool for positive change through the Ideas that Matter program. I am thrilled to announce that I have been named a recipient this year. I will be using the funds to create storytelling tools for an amazing organization called Fresh Artists. The goal of Fresh Artists is to provide much needed support for children’s art education in underfunded public schools while simultaneously encouraging the children served to act as philanthropists themselves. I could not be more thrilled to put my skills to use for such a worthy cause. To learn more about the Ideas that Matter program and the other projects funded, please click here.

Kradel Design is…

...the award-winning creative laboratory of Maribeth Kradel-Weitzel. It is a place where strategy and play come together to create compelling and memorable communication.

Maribeth's accessories include a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic and Interactive Design from Tyler School of Art and a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University. She had the pleasure of serving as the President of AIGA Philadelphia (2009–11) and is currently employed as an Associate Professor of Graphic Design Communication at Philadelphia University.
